While the main forest trail is relatively easy and suitable for most visitors, it may present some challenges, such as steep and slippery sections, particularly after periods of rainfall.

Waterfall Car Parking

The best car park to see the waterfalls is a private field open over the summer months, with a nearest post code of SA11 5US. It costs £5 per car to park and takes 10 minutes to see the first waterfall called Sgwd Clun-Gwyn. The main car parks that are slightly further away from the waterfalls are Gwaun Hepste car park and Cwm Porth car park. These car parks are recognised by the national park and cost £7 per car to park.

Four Waterfall Walk

The Four Waterfalls Walk takes you along the main trail and is a scenic circular route of four of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

As visitors traverse the waterfalls trail, they are treated to stunning vistas, tranquil woodland, and the soothing symphony of the river Mellte rushing water, creating an unforgettable experience of Wales's natural beauty.

The waterfalls on the four waterfalls trail walk are: the first waterfall is Sgwd Uchaf Clun-Gwyn, the second waterfall is Sgwd yr Eira - picturesque water cascading that you can stand behind, the third waterfall is Sgwd y Pannwr, and the fourth and final waterfall is Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn.

Difficulty and Ability Required

The path varies in difficulty, sometimes a narrow trail, a rough path, a cliff edge, a steep climb, a pebbled woodland path, with any heavy rain increasing the strength of the water in the four falls but also making it more challenging walking underfoot. There are very limited toilet facilities in the area. If you have the stamina for the lower falls and upper falls long walk, you will be rewarded with so many beautiful views and a choice of picnic area to recover and relax.
